A week with Dogfight on iPhone

Taking time to examine controls, sound and stability during longer play sessions.

Now testing on a real device

The iOS version is being tested on a real iPhone. This is not an announcement of completion or release approval. The plan is to play across stages over a week and record areas needing improvement. A release date has not been set.

Controls come first

Testing focuses on smooth joystick movement while also pressing Bomb. Particular attention goes to direction-change delay, stopping when a finger lifts, and avoiding accidental Home or Pause presses.

Sound and longer sessions

Gunfire, explosions and item sounds need to remain audible alongside music. Returning from another app must also behave correctly. Heat, frame pacing and battery use are part of real-session testing; a short run cannot establish reliability on every device.

Records stay on the device

The iOS version stores play date, score, reached stage and an optional nickname on the device instead of using online TOP10. It is designed for comparison with your own past runs without signing in. Record retention after app removal or a device change is not guaranteed.

What this site will become

The website has moved from browser play to game information, an aircraft catalog, aviation articles and development notes. Actual gameplay captures will be added after testing. Verified improvements and release news will be documented here.
